![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Classic Architecture Many of us have intesrest in architecture and design, since we have a Modern and contemporary architecture thread I think we also have room for the classic counterpart. For the sake of the postings, let's call Classic as "turn of last century and before" To start: The iconic Flatiron building in New York an 5th and Broadway. Designed by Daniel Burnham It was completed in 1902 and is one of the oldest surviving skyscrapers ![]() It is only 2m wide at the wedge! ![]() It still makes for beautiful photography... ![]() Last edited by The Diva; 08-05-2007 at 07:53 PM. |

I hope this counts... I present to you the city and temple of 'Angkor Wat' situated in Cambodia and built in the early 12th century. As the photos suggest, it's lies within a structure of moats, etc. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Bruce; 08-05-2007 at 03:39 PM. |
