Cool stuff buddy!! I've got my eye on the Sony Alpha 300 or 350.. haven't decided yet, but definitely going with the Sony.

I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts and impressions of the Alpha 200.

Being a current advance-point & shoot camera owner, I've become very used to the LCD screen showing the subject, so the A200 was immediately out as an option for me since the A300 and A350 have LiveView feature (and also, I wear glasses, so less hassle than using the viewfinder).

Enjoy your new toy buddy!!...great to see more people who are willing to venture outside of the usual Canon or Nikon DSLRs.

Thanks and so far I haven't done any serious shooting just messing around with setting and getting used to the feel of having to look into the eye piece (been a point n shoot user like you for a while) But so far I have found the camera amazing! Very easy to use, fantastic quality and lot of settings to play with so over all I'm very impressed

Re: Am the proud owner of a Sony A200

Oh and also the automatic focuses is amazing! So quick and very clear the main problem with the sony A200 is that it doesn't take SD cards where as Nikon do but that didn't stop me buying it i#I just bought a better compact flash memory card which is a better quality memory card for saving pics
