Someone explain to me why you'd need such a high megapixel count?

Apart from trying to print posters the size of the Pyramids in Giza, is there any practical reason for this?
..and goodness knows what sort of memory card you'll have to get.

The mp count is simply to do the sensor size justice.

He he, you are right. The resolution will be fantastic if you have an equally high-quality printer. Remember though, this is a top-of-the-line professional camera
