The original picture was Vin Diesel with the shotgun. I superimposed my face unto his, edited out some of the background near his face and played around with the tone and coloring to make my face match the darkness or lightness of the pictures atmosphere.

How did you superimpose your face? Do you mean cloned your face on?

Good job by the way.

I took a picture of myself trying to get the same look and stance Vin Diesel had in the photo. Then I cut out my head and parts of my neck and put them on the Vin Diesel photo.

Next, I cut out the unwanted borders in my picture and smoothed out the edges when done.

Now, my face is over his face, but you can still see parts of his face. The Clone Tool comes in handy here. Using the Clone Tool, I cloned the background wall and put that over the parts that would not be covered by my face once I merged the two images.

It's basically cut and paste with a little "cleaning up" afterwards. Hope you understood me. My English is terrible when trying to explain such things.

Overall you did a good job. I didn't notice the face. I thought you had cut the barrel off the gun. That's how good it was. However, I would have probably cloned the whole thing. It may be because I am not confident enough to copy and paste my face like you did and see results like you did. I don't know how you did it, but you matched up the skin tones, if they weren't matched already.

The cloning tool is very useful, but the problem is that it doesn't allow you to control tone and colors once you copy your face over to another picture. That's one of the biggest problems with the clone tool. Hence, I like to cut and paste and then remove the rough edges using the cut tools and then smooth the whole thing out.

Nice job Wimmer...I am really a novice with most of the tools in PS. I like Michael did not even notice the face replacement.
