Damn, Rob, you really are a huge fanatic of this site. If memory serves, I joined this site about I got a pm from you on another forum. We didn't join that many weeks apart and your post count will probably be 10x mine in a few weeks.

I gotta get some sleep and save myself for tomorrow's sad events. Michael Schumacher's retirement race is tomorrow. And he'll probably fail to finish the race, let down by his team like two weeks ago. I know I'll have a tear in my eyes at the end.

Sorry Ray, I didn't mean to sound condescending ....I respect both you and Jack a lot ....and I know how arguments over sport can quickly turn 'nasty' ...but I certainly was not trying to stop you from discussing whatever you want

I have posted quite a lot -- maybe too much -- and not always with a great deal of quality either

However, I must point out that I am just a mere amateur, 7.3 AMG has only been a member here for just over a month ...and he has made over 720 posts!

Re: Luxury boats

Update:

Roman Abramovitsh is apparently investigating the possibility to extend his 155 m Eclipse yacht that is being prepared in Hamburg. The extension is meant to make the Eclipse world's largest luxury yacht by making it even longer than the soon-to-be-finished 160 m long Dubai which is owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum of Dubai.

Re: Luxury boats

ahh loving this thread. i have been thinking of starting a thread with luxury and racing sailboats but i had forgoton about this thread. wally are my favorite sailing yachts in the world currently and make some of the best power yachts besides there insane prices for those things. Wally 143ft sailing yacht is my favorite boat ever built. Will get some pics of that when i am home and on my desktop.
Just a question here how many of you are boaters or sailers. I am a avid sailor pretty much sail everyday that it is warm out and do alot of competing. I am only 15 but when your good in sailing it takes you a long way as i am getting paid to sail and being let to sail of some of the nicest racing yachts like 80ft yachts and such. This is my second passion besides cars

I'm definitely not a sailor. I would love to learn and hope to get a chance since one of my friends just bought a sail yacht, a 22ft. I don't know how much it costs to learn but I've heard that it is fairly expensive and my family doesn't have the funds to allow me to do those types of things.

Anyways, I'm a personal fan of the Wally. I love their design and I love the fact that they use Carbon Fiber. Also, as nice as the super yachts are, I see them as a waste and useless. Why does a person seriously need something that big? And paying 20million a year to keep it running is even more rediculous. I would rather just have a yacht large enough for about 6-8bed rooms, 4-5 bathrooms, 2 lving/home rooms and a few decks and a jucuzzi. That would be the biggest I want to get plus something that big I'm sure I can afford to learn how to pilot one fo those myself.
