Finally Got a DSLR Camera!

NIKON D40

In black with no extra options except a 2 GB ScanDisk Extreme III smart media card. Standard lens is an 18-55 mm.

The battery is currently charging, then I have to format the smart card and then I have to experiment with photography and settings etc. I am so excited!

And the cool thing was I got 90 Euros off the price because Canon was offering 90 Euros off their camera's. God I love competition!

Here's a sample shot. Smallest picture size at low quality - I am impressed!

Re: Finally Got a DLSR Camera!

Wow is that the smallest image quality out of that camera? That is really nice.

This is the D40 and not the D40x right?

It is a very good camera, and from what I have seen very easy to use.

Thanks Michael and thanks Alok, Moose and Car Diva!

Yep, this is the smallest size available, 1504 x 1000 and the E320 shot was also taken at low quality. Not bad. I take most of my pictures now with 1504 x 1000 @ normal quality, but if it's a cool photo or subject, I might increase it to the next best size and best quality.

Man I can't touch normal digital cameras anymore after experiencing this!

And yep, this is a Nikon D40 not a D40x.

Below is an almost 4 MB shot of a Mercedes 240D W123 taken in FINE QUALITY and 3008 x 2000 size. Click on it to see the picture quality and clarity!

Lookin good wimmer...have fun. Nothing like having a perfectly exposed and well lit subject to work with and this camera will provide that.
