Have you noticed how some people manage to make their homes look like Superman's North Pole pad?

To answer your question , in the states we say stovetop or range for the 'cooker'. I have a Bosch gas (LP) , Miele electric doble oven and a Sub-Zero fridge in my kitchen ( but the style is Frech country meets 21-st century ) and they will be busy baking NSL's B-day cake in brief.
Thanks Car Diva. The materials are very nice indeed and of very good quality. I had it specially designed since it will have to stay in the house for many years and i had to start from sth in the house, so that i can decorate it all in the same way. So starting with the cusine, being brown and beige, i got tow new beige sofas, the fireplace is also brown and beige and the new curtains too. Now, i have to buy some more furniture for the living room, since some small talbes i have, are very very old and don't much the rest of the house. I also need something for the TV and stereo system, and somewhere to put all those "special occassions" glasses, dishes and stuff, that my mother forced me to take. Which means a lot of $$$ which i don't have right now.

I feel that beige and brown is a very warm combination and also modern enough, at least here. So this was my first choise.

As for the appliances Bosch is very good, too, and Miele is one of the very best. At first i wanted to get all the electricals from Miele, but finally i settled down for Siemens, because of their design and the lower prices.

I have to say that the whole kitchen costed me a bit over 15.000eur! Too much...

Thanks a lot Roberto! Actually granite is a fully mineral material, but quartz is a semi-industrial material!

Thanks a lot mate, too! It is a very warm kitchen indeed. Since, i will have to live in this apartment for really many many years i try to make it as warm and everyday life friendly as possible. For this reason i asked a friend who is a decorator for some help. She told me many usefull advice, but i have to decorate the house room to room, because i am not a very wealthy person, and nice decorations cost a lot here.

So far i have only installed the kitchen, some very nice wardrobes for the bedrooms (pics coming later on) and i got some sofas. Other than that, the rest of the furniture comes from parents old house, the desks, i have them since highschool and so do the bookcases. The beds are also old, and i have absolutely no boards in the bathrooms.

So the next step is bathroom furniture and some nice lamps

Re: Clever Stuff

So what are you planning on installing in the bathroom John, a hot tub?

Here is a clever construction. The philosophy behind this Californian house was to build one with a small foot print as possible, while at the same time offer generous amount of interior space. And doesn't it look great? I love it.

Re: Clever Stuff

It is a 3600 square foot home and it called the Hill house. Architect? Johnston Marklee.

Interior shots: Very open and spacious.
