I know - it shows that there are some very serious (and seriously rich) collectors around - however, the desk will hold it's value, the Veyron will only loose value over time.

That is one amazing painting though, it's truely beautiful. I makes me feel so small when I know that a person used brushes to make something so incredibly artistic.

I will always be surprised at people's potential.

P.S. A million bucks for furniture... it better be comfortable as hell

Wow notic, that is expensive - I guess it is a one-off.... is it?

That would justify it's price to some degree because it could be seen as a piece of sculpture by one of the most significant architects of our time.

LOL - I'm assuming you're referring to the "Proust" chair - yeah, it is a bit extreme - Mendini is very interested in "banal design" or "kitsch design" - this chair is now very famous and can be found in most of the world's most prestigious art museums, Mendini himself has been the art director at Swatch and Alessi.
