Yup, I don't believe his "change" spiel either. I think it's unfortunate that more commentators are not asking what the foundation of his change message is.

Is there anything in his record that indicates his track record of changing things? How many in the divided Democratic party think he sells change largely because he is the first viable black candidate?

I think they better start asking and answering those questions soon if they want to stop the division and confusion. But knowing the Dems, they'll probably engage in the usual inter-party squabbling.

It's clear that Obama is in the lead. He has surged ahead of Clinton for the Intrade Prediction markets. He will win Louisiana, Nebraska, Washington State, Maine on the weekend. Then I think he wins DC, Virginia, Maryland. After seven wins in a row, he can compete and likely win Ohio, maybe Texas and almost certainly Pennsylvania.

Oh yeah, Hillary is lending her campaign $5 million of her own money! Who would have thunk it?

Obama just swept three states. He could easily win Maine tomorrow and all the beltway states on Tuesday. I think he's setting up to knock out Hillary.

Right now it looks like President Obama. The Republicans don't seem willing to back McCain and he is likely to lose all three primaries today!

I read that article, EnI. I agree with the author that there is too much hype and hysteria. There is far too much at stake in this election for the mainstream media to present one-sided puff pieces. At this rate, even the Republican machine won't be able to do anything to question Obama's character and policies.

Noble prize winner (for literature) Doris Lessing said she feared Obama assassination. And she is not the only one. Wolf Blitzer (CNN) asked Ted Kennedy a while ago if he feared Obama would face same fate as JFK ...



Interesting ... A few week ago I expressed the same concern to my colleagues at the office. Do you really think someone who is calling for a war against lobbies & corporations would leave those corporations & lobbies cold & passive. I don't think so ... I'm sure they will strike back in a very nasty way. I hope they won't perform the "terminal act".

He can only be save if nominating Edwards for VP. Because no corporation wants Edwards in Oval Office at all. Not even for a single day.

What do you think ... Is Obama - as a "reformist & uniter" realy such a threat to some groups (not the racist ones, but more to corporate world) they are capable to eliminate him? Hint: Syriana ....

It's practically over! Obama sweeps and has won the last 8 states! Tonight he cut into all of Hillary's traditional support groups (women, lower income voters, rural, seniors).

In all likelihood, he will be the nominee and the next president. All he has to do is win Wisconsin on Tuesday (and he's looking good in that Liberal, student-heavy state). Forget Ohio and Texas suiting Hillary's demographics. Forget that Obama has cut into them all. If she loses Wisconsin, I think it is irrelevant whether she shows up in the later big states.

^ I think it'll be more of an error if the media, the Oprah-types and what I call the "Facebook Generation Liberals" get Obama into the White House by mindlessly trumping his change message.

I have paid attention to this election and still don't know what his brand of change his because he doesn't have a record of change. Even if the media starts asking what change is, come November it will be too late for any helpful debate. Even the formidable Republican general election machine will be rendered useless.

^ I think the one that needs to take a chance is Hillary. African-Americans have abandoned her already. They're voting 9-to-1 against not just any candidate, but Mrs. Clinton!

Take the gloves off and hammer Obama on everything. Don't worry about alienating the African-American voters. They ain't coming back.

I think the Clintons must feel betrayed. Bill did so much for African-Americans and Latinos as president, but African-Americans have rejected her so badly in these recent primaries. She's losing the black vote 90% to 10%! I wonder if Bill now feels like he was nothing more than a placeholder.

The way that black suburban voters have ditched the Clintons can be alienating. I wouldn't be surprised if they are really feeling insulted. If the Clintons lose, their political careers are over. Do Dems want to vote to "retire" the Clintons in favor of an inexperienced guy who talks change? To me that is Hillary's only chance.
