Organic anyone?

With all this pesticide hormone craze, the questions are:

do you consume organic, pesticide free or hormone free goods?

Do you believe it's worth paying extra for this?

Do you think there trully makes a difference?

Re: Organic anyone?

Nope, not for me.... If im going down, then im doing it enjoying my meals... I've tried some foods, but they are just not tasty to me...

Only thing I will say was and is good...

Starbucks, Soy white mocha latte's. Hot and cold are great.

I dont think one is significantly cleaner or better in any way than the other. IMO, of course. I have no backing to anything i said its just pure speculation on my part. Other than the Latte thing!!!

Re: Organic anyone?

I haven't a clue as to wether organic food is better for one or not, but then again, It is of no to concern me.

In other words, I'm not worried. I'll continue to eat my regular foods because pesticides make the food taste so damn good (seriously).

Re: Organic anyone?

I agree with life is what it is , you are going to die no matter what and all that. Nutritionally, the claim is that it makes no difference.

I only buy organic/hormone free etc if the difference in price is not stratospheric

or if I know it make a huge difference in taste ( like chicken, beef, lamb, eggs, milk etc).

Yes I'm a fastidious foodie

However, I know some members have concerns regarding the environment and sustainability.

Now, I'm not a tree-hugger or anything like that but have you given the though on if buying organic, pesticide free, cage free, free roam

or fair trade for environmental reasons or just social conscience sake?

coolraoul will become famous soon enough
Re: Organic anyone?

I don't buy organic/pesticid free at the moment because I'm still student so I have no money.
But I find it important, and sure I prefer the natural stuff.

I am in favour of biological things. When I'll earn my money by working (not only in summer), I sure will look at this, and buy mostly organic food.

Even if, at the moment, it may not be a big difference because the pesticids of the neighbour will pollute the organic just near, i think it is worth paying the extra for it. because the more you buy organics, the more it will be interesting for the producers to make organics food, so you can make the things change by buying organic, hormone-free food. May sound a bit like a dream, but I this is my opinion.

Everyone can make the things move a bit, and all together we can make them change big time.

You are a WISE man

I also believe the consumer has the power to change the products, including food!

Ever since I can (in terms of monies) I favor the local produce and poultry/egg producers.
They are family owned and organic/ free roaming pesticide free.

Milk is organic and hormone free. I can't have milk, but NSL does, he notices the difference in terms of taste and texture.

Sugar, Coffee and chocolate: I get the organic/ fair trade type ONLY.
I might be naive, but I also think that if many many make a small contribution, it will add up to a significant difference one day.

Vroom Vroom: I don't think driving an Audi or a Rangy is that bad...
think in terms of fuel efficiency, oil changes and reduced emissions vs other cars/SUV's! you might be greener than you think
