Mind if I chime in?

I just got started again after 2+ years of absence. I went and worked out a little too much...right now I'm really sore and in a lot of pain! But I'll get through it. I'm sticking to the lots of cardio, lots of reps minimum weight routine until I build tolerance and then time to bulk.

Re: The weight lifting thread.

120 kg in benchpress when I really was training (4 times a week). Then I stopped for 2 years and gained 10 kg bodyfat.
So I started again a year ago now I only train 2 times a week. Now I just want to lift light weights and keep the body in motion since I work with computers on daily basis. Working with computers you dont move much, you just sit in a chair and watching the monitor so its nice to go to the gym.

Anyway, now I have a 3 weeks vacation and staying away from the gym in three weks and it feeels good.

Re: The weight lifting thread.

Sorry to wake this thread but felt I wanted to respond and maybe others too.

You have an amazing story Alex and it was nice reading it.

I've been super thin all my life and I am so genetically. My dad weighed 58kg when he got married but he didn't work out, bulk or anything like that. I bulk and have been working out since September and have probobly gained about 5kg since. Weigh 63kg now. Despite my family is thin by genetics my dad now weighs 80-90kg and that's just how he's big, not really fat. Will I grow "bigger" too as I gain weight?
My goal now is to reach 70-75kg and then start swimming again and not work out at the gym as much as I do now. And after doing that for a year or so I'll do more gym than swimming and work towards my dream weight, 80-85kg. And once there I'll quit the gym and only swim.

Re: The weight lifting thread.

I cook everyday after school and that's how I work out.

The swimming is to complement the gym, every muscle I may not work out there, symmetry, stamina and to get that sexy body the girls like

So I build at the gym and polish in the pool.

Re: The weight lifting thread.

I'm mostly on the slim side, did some weight lifting back in college, at first I managed to keep it up for three month straight with quite good results actually, nothing too fancy, just a good tone while keeping a slim profile.
But after then, got into med school and went less and less to the gym so now I'm back to to my default setup I guess.
Thinking of picking up rowing once spring settles in, from what I know it's a good sport and involves almost all the muscles of the body...and if time allows it, wouldn't mind enrolling at the local gym

I 2nd that. Recently since I graduated I have been wanting to start working out. I am only 22 and I feel like I have thrown my life away by noy excercising and living a healthy lifestyle. Although I eat well, I feel like my body is asking me to pump the blood by doing cardio and all. I am slim, but want to be in shape.

Re: The weight lifting thread.

The muscles in my body go on a rise and fall cycle - everytime I gain the interest to gym, it'll rise. And when I stop going to the gym, it falls. I'm 1.75m tall and I weight -oh boy - 78kg! Gotta lose the weight and build up my stamina before army next year.
