Re: The Caffeine Thread

Day 8 of espresso machine crash:

I'm starting to slip... had a cup of drip coffee at work. YUCK!!!!!

The espresso withdrawal is making me crankier and all the Coffee flavor Hagen Daaz is gone.

Maybe instant espresso is not too bad...

HOW MUCH LONGER TILL the NEW MACHINE GETS HERE ?????

Re: The Caffeine Thread

when my saeco died, I did think about buying a francis-francis. However, I don't like cups: if you buy the proper ones they're just too expensive, if you buy the cheaper ones: it's crap.

So I bought this

Espresso Zone - DeLonghi Magnifica Super-Auto Espresso Machine ESAM3300

I can grind my own beans or If I feel like it, buy some coffee that's already been grinded. I love this machine. Can't live without a decent espresso-maker anymore.

I can't stand their regular coffee. Mind you, the only "regular coffee" I can stand is the variety we get here in Finland, and only a couple of brands at that.

Re: The Caffeine Thread

We do't have Starbucks here in Sweden, but I have tried it multiple times abroad. And I'm surprised they're as big as they are. In my opinion they can't compete with anything here in Sweden, nor Italy for that matter.
I'm just curious to how the chain can be as ig as it is. It's still a mystery to me.

I Agree! Most baristas have no idea what they are doing, and the public goes in for items
such as double caramel frapucchino who knows what.
This stuff is loaded with sugary syrups and artificial whipped cream, not my cup of tea ( no pun intended)

It's actually rare to see someone asking for an espesso, a macchiato or a simple latte. And when is the last time I got a slice of lemon rind with my espresso at Starbucks.... lemme see... oh yes NEVER!!!

This is the best way to enjoy Starbucks. Always tastes like you want it to. (Yup, it's my cup.)

Seriously though, I think they do decent coffee... Definitely not the best but not the worst either.
