Piaget and Vygotsky

I am just curious if anyone else has read into these two's theories on child development. I am taking a class this semester on these two, and find it very intriuging stuff. Just wanted know what others thought about it.

Sorry Jeff: I've been up to my ears in "stuff" for a while.

Yes, I'm familiar with both although much more engaged with adult cognitive issues.

I lean more toward Piaget, in part because I believe language is not a necessary part for children to understand a problem.

Ther are many experiments with babies and toddlers ( no speech capabilities yet) in which they seem to understand problems, dilemas and express through non verbal communication, not necessarily through a discussion of a problem.

I'm sorry to say that I'm not very familiar with this subject. But I did hear this very interesting Discovery Channel podcast about a memory study.

Here's a link: Memory Study - watch the video, vlog, or video podcast on Mefeedia
