![]() | Re: Coolest home ever? all i gotta say is that you guys have some great taste in houses. I have begun to love modern designed houses and interiors but there are those times when i just dream of owning one of those giant mansion type old houses filled with old furniture. |

![]() ![]() | Re: Coolest home ever? I'm a big fan of spanish style homes with arched door ways, tiles beams and noodle roofs. Thats kind of just my style I would be looking for in a house. I should post pics of my G-parents, its brand new but its pretty nice.... |

However I think the house itself is a tad too modern. Too much glass is being used here. It carries with it a sense of modernity that I don't think will last very long. Modern contemporary design is my favourite. BTW Porsche Guy, for that small piece of real estate, is 7.8 million very much to pay? And how ironic, it's only 7.8 million. |

![]() | Re: Coolest home ever? I'm a city guy. If I had the money, I'd stay in the city and get me a condo at the new Time Warner Center. It has everything you need in it. I lived in that neighborhood years ago and watched the $1.7 billion structure go up. A British CEO bought himself one for $45 million there a couple of years ago. http://newyorkmetro.com/nymetro/real...lestate/10152/ http://www.newyorkmetro.com/realesta...04/timewarner/ http://www.mandarinoriental.com/hotel/520000076.asp# ![]() ![]() |

![]() | Re: Coolest home ever? Yaz AMG, I was in NYC over Thanksgiving last year and visited the Time Warner building. It is beautiful. I ate breakfast at the asian restaurant on the 42 (I think) floor of the right facing tower. It had an amazing view of central park, although a new building was going up that is certainly going to hamper some of that view. Also, my family friend works in the real estate business in NYC and was in the process of selling two entire floors to one family that was then going to be combine the two floors into one apartment and the craziest part was that the people who were considering the purchase would not see the apartment until after they bought it! That is crazy. I wish I could throw cash around like that. |

Ha, yes well.....I do sometimes have slightly flashy taste...he he he You would need an army of gardeners to look after the grounds though, the property had several different "themed" gardens, ranging from Italian style to Japanese gardens. |

![]() | Re: Coolest home ever? Lu, I wouldn't say that the first house has strict lines - I'd call it severe! Also, the acoustics must be horrible in there; and IMO the large bookshelves are somewhat of a anomaly in an ultra modern and minimalistic house.I suppose it's not quite to my liking. In fact, not many of these houses are - I'd like a single storey building, with modest facilities. Preferably in the suburbs - innercity dwelling doesn't appeal to me, nor does living in remote areas. Style-wise, not ultramodern like Lu or grandiose like Rob, but just 'comfortable' and contemporary. |
