I don't know what this building going up on the Westside Highway will be, but I think it looks amazing. The crooked columns and the curvy exterior caught my attention when I first noticed it. I decided to take a picture of it before they finished covering the exterior.

And I took this one while driving past it.

BTW, NYC is experiencing a construction boom. There's like five new high-rise buildings going up around my neighborhood. I'm always watching these cranes going up along with the buildings, it's a very interesting procedure how they raise it when the building catches up with it.

Re: Coolest home ever?

Hey guys, what do you think of this new building. Riparian was designed by Harry Seidler and was his last major project before he passed away early this year. It was briefly the tallest building on the Brisbane skyline untill very recently being surpassed by Aurora (building to the right).

Harry's buildings have often being criticised for being too similar as he as used the same design elements in all his projects since the early 70's. For example the shorter building (Riparians shorter brother) to the right, Riverside Centre, was also designed by Harry, but constructed in the early 80's. To me though Riparian proves his architechture is pretty timeless and looks very contemporary, even today.

I love this building. What do you guys think?

Nice! I am a big fan of homes that have water views. What's more it looks like it has significant amount of above ground car parking. I live along the water in San Francisco and enjoy watching the scenery change as sail boats and large ocean liners/frieghters pass under the Bay Bridge. Make sure you get one with a nice view.

Re: Coolest home ever?

I am curious as to why this thread has been moved to this section. (edit: I worked it out )
Anyway, here is a villa in Monaco -- unfortunately no good pictures of the house ...but what spectacular views of the port of Fontvieille and The Rock.
