Fender making limited edition Stratocasters to benefit Clapton charity

Scottsdale guitar maker Fender is working with Eric Clapton to create a limited edition guitar and amp package to benefit Crossroads Centre, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility founded by the legendary musician in Antigua.

Fifty Clapton Crossroads Stratocaster guitars will be sold for $20,000 each and another 50 will paired with the Crossroads ‘57 Twin-Amp in a $30,000 package. The guitars will go on July 20 at www.fender.com — eight days before Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival 2007 in Chicago, according to an announcement Monday by Fender Musical Instruments Corp.

The price tag you ask? $30,000 USD!

Equipped with 24k gold plating, black glitter paint - you name it.

Very nice indeed! Bruce, a nice set of Drum Workshop (DW) - will cost you around $3,000, without Neil Peart's signature of course, but nevertheless you can sound like him!

I knew you'd like it

As of late, I have been putting serious thought into taking up drumming, but my current residence holds me back (shared by other occupants)

Yet again, I don't play this instrument, but I'd love to have one anyway.

With the company's future undecided, it could be a collectors piece!

Another thing about his drum set for the 30th anniversary tour: When it came to pick up the colors, he was inpired in the black and red interior of his BMW Z8!

Yup! Take a look at the cover of his book 'Traveling Music'

On a side note, I'm not sure if you knew this or not, but Peart's got a huge car collection (including a DB9, a Testarossa, etc )

It's also cool that his 30th anny kit is inspired by Keith Moon's kit.

I'm not too fond of 5- or 6-string Bass, those extra strings are pretty useless unless you need them to cheat at playing Geddy Lee's songs . You won't see the master (Geddy) playing with more than just 4 strings.

Here's my dream bass guitar:

But Geddy used a 5-string Wal on the song 'Lock & Key'!

That's the only time though
