Zune's have been available in the United States for several years now, but the market share of microsoft's PMP doesn't quiet fulfill all expectations. this could change with the release of the newest member of the Zune product family - the Zune HD. its also going to be the first Zune player available to other markets.
Microsoft is investing heavily into their Zune strategy. a key point of their strategy are current xbox 360 consumers. As the recent E3 conference has revealed, their Xbox Live Service is working amazingly well together with the Zune HD. Even their content line up on the Zune HD Marketplace is ready to take it against iTunes.
Also hardware wise the Zune HD seems to outplay its opponent, it is the first PMP with an nvidia graphics chip and outputs video in HD.

actually we all laughed at microsoft when they announced to bet sony in the consol war, but now in 2009 sony is in big troubles with their number one horse. apple's focus is currently on their iPhone, the iPod brand hardly gets much attention recently.
at least it seems that the only thing that could stop microsoft is the trend to buy all in one phones in stead of stand alone PMPs.
