Police pull student away

I am sure some of you heard or read about this. When I found out I was astonished at what happened.

Student Arrested, Tasered at Kerry Event

Video: YouTube - University of Florida student Tasered at Kerry forum

LiveLeak.com - Kerry Taser Incident....raw footage of after he was tasered and led away

I just couldn't believe what these police officers did. I just saw that on CNN the cops have been put on leave with pay as an investigation takes place. I don't see anything wrong with what this kid was doing. Aside from the fact that he apparently likes to cause trouble, he asked legitimate questions that could have been answered. The police officers did not have to act, nor tase him, in the manner of which they did.

I was watching CBS tonight, or NBC, and they mentioned how here in the US there is a crackdown on people that are considered 'disruptive' when it comes to certain events. You are taken out by police immediately because there is the belief that if the disruptors are delt with immediately there will be less consequences.

Thoughts?

I think that's true. You really can't fault the security people for being vigilant. They don't know if these disruptors are acting alone or perhaps have organized other secret disruptors that are waiting to pounce. Also, there must be a concern that these disruptors will say something so scandalous and untrue that it gets posted on youtube. In my opinion, a video of a loud mouth getting tasered is better than that loud mouth making a video where he embarrasses the person speaking with his antics.

The funny thing is Kerry tried to answer his question and the bugger kid still got tasered.

Re: Police pull student away

He talked for almost 90 seconds before they tried to remove him. You can tell that they had already asked him to wrap it up beforehand. His "attitude" and belligerence was apparent in his tone, he was fishing for a problem. Bottom line is that he resisted. I believe that those were police officers, not security. On California University campus the police are Ca. State Police officers, not rent a cops. It appeared they used the proper "force continuum." They started with voice commands then moved to slight physical then he started to rant and evade the physical prompts which escalated the situation. Even after the taseing he continued to be a problem.
I heard somewhere that he calmed down and fully cooperated once he was outside (away from the cameras) and actually asked if there would be reporters at the jail/police station.
I guess he is well known for his antics on the web, and this was just another stunt.

People never seem to learn that you do as you are told.
