The Raccoon Incident
Holly Molly!

we have a whole family of raccoons who are feeding off the fruits of some of the palm trees and dining on our roof!

Our Male Kitten ( Nanoo) discovered them and alerted us to the these guys one evening .
We saw him staring at the roof, apparently at nothing only to look and see that a bunch of little eyes are staring back at us!

Now because this is their environment, and we don't want to kill them, we found a local wildlife trapper
that humanely catches them an relocates them to a safe area.
He reminds me of that Australian guy that was killed in a freak accident with manta-rays... was it The Crocodile Hunter???

Traps are set, he's using licorice as bait... let's see!

And... we have our first catch!

A small female. very cute!


The wildlife guy will be here in about an hour. There are around 300 raccoons in this place, hopefully not all of them get on our palm trees

Yes I took some and will download from camera later tonight.

About the coons and cats... The raccoons transmit rabies, although my guys are vaccinated, I would not want them in direct contact.

The trapper guys has a more Vin Diesel vibe than Steve Corwin ( thanks James )
and he was saying that the raccoons have many different personalities, some are nice, some are very naughty, some are plain mean!

The cars are secure in the garage, they have no access there whew!


The trap is set agin, let's see what goes on tonight!

Keep them as pets, get them vaccinated all should be ok... Until they destroy the house
