![]() ![]() | Your favorite animal I use to be a big time animal lover as a kid, I think I even wanted to be a trainer for Orca's at Sea World. To the point, my favorite animal is the aforementioned: The Orca, Killer Whale, Sea Wolf, etc. I have a huge appreciation and respect for their level of intellengence(the highest of any animal/mammal excluding humans), and their natural habitat which is unfortunately, thanks to us, heavily polluted. They're size is imposing but they are probably some of the most docile creatuers known to man in their natural enviorment. At the same time they are the top preadators of the sea, known to consume the often mistaken top predator of the sea, the great white shark. Killer Whales have even been known to eat Polar Bears, and that is not some freak occurence, while it doesn't happen as often as Orca's consuming seals and fish, polar bears are very much known to be apart of their diet, and when no food is around(this was discovered over 30 years ago) it has been discovered that they will resort to cannibalism. Interesting tid bit on Killer Whale Behavior/ Intellegence: Quote:

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Your favorite animal I'm a huge fan of the big cats. My favorite always alternates between the Bengal Tiger and the African Leopard. The Tiger is bigger, prettier and even more fierce than the Lion. The Lion gets the "king of the jungle" title, but that really isn't true from all the wildlife stuff I've seen. True a male Lion wil attack anything Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos...he isn't as cunning or dangerous to his prey as a Tiger is. The Leopard is much smaller but he is all muscle and is mainly one seen at night - love that. Any animal that can carry 2-3 times his own body weight up a tree gets my respect. Pound for pound he is the most impressive of the big cats. Tiger, Leopard, and then the Lion. Though Lions are the most fun to watch because they way they coordinate their hunting and live in "prides". Nothing looks more impressive (as in deadly) than seeing 6-8 Lion heads poking up though the grass on the plains of Africa! The Jaguar, similar to the Leopard also deserves mention as does the Cheetah and Snow Leopard. M |
