Try this way if you have Photoshop: Layers>New Adjustment layer>Channel mixer>set it to monochrome>set the sliders to your liking. There are numerous ways to convert the photos, this is just one simple way. Let me know what you think. |

Unfortunately I only have Photoshop Elements v.20, and the 'Channel Mixer' feature isn't available. When it comes to B&W photos, 99% of the time I do end up taking a colour photo and then just removing the colour. I also do a lot of selective colouring photos, so in that instance I need to have the original colour photo, and then work from there. It's rare that I'd even bother taking a B&W image straight from the camera because there's no point fiddling around with the settings on the camera, when B&W photos can be created in P'shop with the ease of a single mouse-click. In all honesty, I actually find it very difficult to leave a colour photo as it is. Unless it's a really good photo with vibrant colours, it's a bad habit now that I automatically create a full B&W copy of it, or create a selectively coloured version with the photo being predominantly B&W. | |
