Congratulations to BeemerB773ER for winning last week's competition

General Photo Competition #147...

Rules:

The submitted picture must have been taken by the submitter.
Only one photograph per person and per week is permitted.
The submitted photograph may not be changed once it has been entered.
There are 5 days to submit your photograph, a poll will be created after five days for people to vote on. (Voting from Friday morning to Monday morning, then a new thread will be created Monday morning for entry)
Your image must be a resolution of 1024*768 or lower. If it is not, your picture will not be in the voting thread.
In the interest of fairness, entrants may not vote for their own photograph.
The photograph should be submitted with: A Title, the date, and the type of camera.
Photoshop and other image editing softwares: Levels, Curves, Colour Balance, Brightness/Contrast, Hue/Saturation, cropping, or anything else possible in the development process or with filters and common special lenses is permitted . Other adjustments and effects (Color Selective - pending) are not permitted

Geez ree, you sure you don't have a dedicated macro lens? ...coz that photo is as stunning as the photo of the bee you entered last week. The detail is awesome!!

Did you do anything special to get such a great shot.. or simply take the photo with a little patience?

Let me try and find a photo for this week.

I took this photo right after it rained the whole day - in the evening, the sun comes out! I just walked around our garden and looked for some nice motives! There were these "bushes" with the raindrops on it…and I ever wanted to test to photograph sth like this.
So I set my camera to manual mode and manual focus - and just started to take photos. I had in my mind, how these photos should look like - so I photographed out of many different positions and settings…everything with my standard 18-55mm lens!

…I edited this photo with Photoshop afterwards - contrast and chroma!

Thanks for the explanation ree... that definitely is a great shot coz it has such detail and really draws your eyes to the droplets which are in focus. The saturation enhancements add a nice effect too.

Here's mine for the week.... keeping with last week's aviation theme, here's a photo that's a couple of years old, but I never thought to enter it.
