I spent some time with that image Roberto and what is happeining is an optical illusion of sorts. The LV Strip is horizontal but the lights of the city in the background are on terrain of the foothills that raise towards the mountains. So the line of the city lights give the appearance of camera tilt. Those lights in the background are probably at a distance of close to several miles away.
I was able to correct the tilt (which I have a tendency to do) by a very little but too much and all the buildings on the strip then tilt the other way.

Thought you would like to know about that...we learn something every day. I had no idea this was the problem until you pointed it out to me since I just assumed it was my tilt tendency. Thanks.

Here is the straighened image and you can see the lamp post in the foreground is vertical but the city lights are still low on the left and high on the right, while the strip buildings are horizontal.

My final vote goes to El Zorro ...what a great photograph of such a beautiful church. It looks like such a peaceful place ...where exactly is it El Zorro? Do you know when the church was built -- my guess would be the 1940s ...it is a very nice.

Mike J's photo reminds me of a Monet painting ...very appealing.

I almost voted for yours Choleric -- I love the subtlety of the colours in your picture.

audi_rudy: interesting view you have there -- like what the world must be like for someone in a negative pressure ventilator ..... yeah that was in bad taste -- sorry.
Roberto, I'm not gonna pretend I know the history of the abbey, but I found this interesting website for you: http://www.orval.be/an/FS_an.html. They say the church was rebuild and used again from somewhere in the 1940s, indeed! It is really a beautiful place! The gardens and the buildings are maintained in very good condition; on the place there are also the ruins of the medieval abbey. The whole atmosphere is peace and quiet... I have other photos from the place, I'll post them if I have time... BTW, congrats on your victory in this photo competition. Well deserved
