Perpetual calendars are extremely complicated buggers, so naturally, they're also the most expensive kind of movements out there. I find it extraordinary that the IWC has a year display in addition to the month, date and moon phase. Very cool.

IWC really nailed the dial design on the new Portugeiser series. Great stuff.

I really wouldn't worry about boxes and/or papers. Unless the watch in question is incredibly special, the packaging was probably discarded. Best is that you find sellers who are reputable and pass through a large volume of watches on a regular basis. Put them in your favorite stores and track their auctions for a while. You'll get a feel for what's good and what isn't.

Sellers who know their stuff are often watchsmiths and service the movements and check for accuracy before the sale.

Mr Pagani must be loaded as hell
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
MB&F’s Horological Machines — as each of his watches will be named — are machines which tell the time rather than machines to tell the time. This distinction is crucial to the understanding of MB&F’s timepieces because they have nothing to do with the mundane necessity to read time and are all about the luxurious expression of time. Telling time with a MB&F Horological Machine 1 is an emotional experience in the same way owning a Ferrari Enzo or Pagani Zonda is an emotional experience. It is a mobile, high performance sculpture, bristling with futurist inspired styling and real functional innovation.

It's a neat and ridiculous watch. Would be nice if they didn't make use the Star Treck font.

I want to see what that thing looks like on somebody's wrist. It's got to be 70mm wide or so.

Splenditenes will become famous soon enough
Re: I just bought a Breitling Tourbillon.

It`s very unique and expensive, I can`t say I`m fond of the idea or style. I`m looking at the band and wondering if you happen to have large wrists you might not be able to fit or adjust this baby and don`t ever loosen both bands because both sides will fall together causing a $100,000 repair.
