Halo 3 breaks records, $170 million in 24hrs!

Exciting news fanboys, Halo 3 has officially become the highest grossing entertainment launch in history pulling in a whopping $170 million in its 24 hour launch window.

Previously, Microsoft went on record to say that they were hoping that Halo 3's launch would pull in $155 million, beating Halo 2's $125 million launch and even eclipse the record setting movie Spider Man 3's $148 million. So, you can bet that the Microsoft execs are grinning ear to ear today with their $170 million haul.

Not the least bit surprised, nor should anyone else be for that matter. Microsoft has struck on a franchise which is quite simply unstoppable. I personally, have yet had the chance to play the 3 installment, but I haven't any doubts that it's kick ass (got the 2nd game).

I'd wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy the game, but I haven't even got a 360 yet.

Question is, what will be Mircosoft's next profit puller?

I am not a video gamer, but I have to say that my nephew plays these types of games and I know several people who do as well and there is nothing but tremendous positivity coming from it.

I don't have a 360 either
All the Halo 3 owners are going to have one hell of a weekend. I read some where that during the launch day there were as many as 600 000 people online playing the game. Very impressive.

I jealous and will spend the weekend learning how to play Halo 2 with default control setting. People jump and use the melee attack like crazy these days. Gotta learn how to do that effortlessly. My current control setting is isn't suitable for crazy moves.

Now that this is the end of the story I wonder what the next smashing Xbox game will be. Until then let's enjoy Halo 3 on Xbox and wait for Halo on PC.

Halo 3 FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Halo 3 breaks records, $170 million in 24hrs!

I hope Halo 3 will be released for XBOX. I played Halo on PC, Halo 2 on my brother's XBOX since the PC version would only play on Vista (screw you MS!) and hopefully, I will get the chance to play Halo 3 on XBOX. Awesome game btw!

Halo 3 on Xbox *Evil laughter with echo*. Sorry to kill your dreams but that ain't going to happen. Halo 3 is 360 exclusive and won't be launched on another console, but there will be a PC version(Vista only off course ).
